Garjiya Devi Temple
Garjiya Devi Temple is located in the Garjiya village near Ramnagar - Nainital District, Uttarakhand, India. It is a sacred Shakti shrine where Garjiya Devi is the presiding deity. Garjiya Devi Temple situated over a huge rock in the midst of river Kosi.
Kartik Purnima is a fair of lamps. The Garjiya Temple, fully decorated with diyas lit by the devotees and worshipers during the fair, gives a splendid panoramic view over the Kosi River, which definitely demands a visit to this divine goddess temple at least once in a lifetime.
Garjiya Devi Temple is one of the most famous temples of the Nainital district visited by thousands of devotees during Kartik Poornima, a Hindu holy day celebrated on the fifteenth lunar day of Kartik (November – December). It is also known as the festival of lights of the gods. The Kartik Purnima festival also coincides with the Sikh festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Ramnagar is the last bus terminus - Railway Station, Garjiya Devi Temple is 14 km by road.
