Eco-Friendly Cycle-Rickshaws Of Nainital

Popularity of cycle-rickshaws could be gauged from the fact that locals and tourists patronising the pre-paid rickshaw stands, set up at vantage points (Mallital & Tallital) in the city. The rickshaws move on the route between Tallital and Mallital. All one has to pay is just ten for a km ride between the two places. These pre-paid services are very convenient where the intending riders are given a slip with the rickshaw number mentioned on it. One side fare is given to the rickshaw puller and the fare of the other side goes to the owner/union/Municipal Corporation. Total number of rickshaws in Nainital is around 85.

Walking

Nainital is a bliss for people who love walking. One can go for long walks, breath fresh air and enjoy the scenic beauty. It offers numerous walkways and authentic feeling of you being a local yourself. Quiet, peaceful and lazy are probably the best description. Nature at its best is the right word to describe the magnificient hill station. During the summer season (peak tourist time), roads deny traffic or vehicles along the Mall from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

Horse Riding

Horses can be hired at Bara Pathar. Several tourist use horses as their transport mode to visit the different peaks of Nainital. Horse Riding is now strictly prohibitted inside the Nainital town.

Boats

Naini Lake is within a perimeter of nearly 2 miles and option of boating through Yachts, Paddle Boats and traditional Rowing Boats are available.

Aerial Rope Way (Cable Car)

Aerial Ropeway connects Snow-View Point with Nainital near flats. Aerial ropeway starts at Mallital, there are only two trolleys to carry passengers.

Taxi And Car

Nainital’s roads provide easy transportation, with taxis being the primary method of travel. Rental cars are also available – note that vehicles touring Mall Road must pay a toll of 50 INR for every entry until 3:00 PM and 100 INR during hours after.
